Robotic Vehicles are Here, How Do We Prepare to Meet and Live with Them?

Stan Caldwell, Deputy Executive Director of the T-SET University Transportation Center (UTC) and Associate Director of the Traffic21 Initiative, will present upon Autonomous Vehicles.  Currently at Carnegie Mellon University, Stan manages more than 30 transportation research projects interfacing with CMU faculty and the government, non-profit and corporate community partners deploying CMU transportation research in the field.

Before coming to CMU he served as Executive Director of US Senator Arlen Specter’s Pittsburgh Office where he worked throughout western Pennsylvania with an emphasis on federally funded transportation and economic development projects.  Stan has also worked for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, Pittsburgh’s metropolitan planning organization.

Stan received his Masters of Public Policy and Management degree from the University of Pittsburgh and B.S. from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.

Carnegie Mellon is currently working on research into the future of transportation including robotic vehicles and how the transportation system will need to adapt to them.  The event will begin with a networking social hour.  A light dinner will be provided.  Stan will then present on some of the findings of CMU's research regarding the future of transportation.
